First of all, I just want to do a final shout out to all Veterans, THANK YOU for all you have done, and will do. Since 2015, we have stood beside you, fought with you, cried with you, loved with you and mostly formed unbreakable bonds with you. To those who continue to serve, and have served, we love you.
If you are a Veteran, I hope you enjoyed Veteran’s Day just as much as we did 🙂 Every now and then, we find new adventures around where we live to cut down on the cost of traveling somewhere further. Our weekend took us to Punta Gorda, Florida. Y’all… When we first moved here I could not stop saying “Puñta” Gorda…both words are spelled the SAME.
Anyways, we found our way out of an escape room, bar hopped through a modern style hangout, Irish Pub, and finished our day with Dim Sum. We can’t wait to go back to Escape Rooms Unlocked to try their new outdoor adventure. They’ve set clues around the city of Punta Gorda, and you walk to each one to solve the mystery.
I want to encourage you and your partner to romanticize wherever you live. The day to day can be repetitive, but if you seek out the adventures, try a new activity, and try a restaurant you’ve been wanting to go to, you will be surprised how much joy can come from stepping outside of your comfort zone. Sometimes our best memories live right down the street from us⭐
If you made it this far you are AWESOME, I would love to hear from you and about your adventurous day not so far away from home! Here’s to exploring the cities or towns we live in, and finding the secrets they hold!

Holiday Corner🦃
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, I hope you are trying a new recipe! This year, I am obsessed with Brie, specifically baked Brie. I can’t wait to try this new recipe I found with my family next week. As Mike and I decorate the house and wait for the family to come into town, I couldn’t help but ask Google why we have this holiday. I kinda forgot the reasons I learned back in grade school…
Isn’t it cool that we can thank Abraham Lincoln for establishing the national holiday back in 1863?! I love that we can officially recognize a day of family and food by taking off school and work to enjoy some of the best food we eat all year. The rest of the story goes back to 1620 with the pilgrims and the Mayflower. A group of English Pilgrims sought religious freedoms, arriving in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they faced harsh winters, illness and malnutrition. The assistance from the local Wampanoag people was crucial to the survival of the pilgrims, who taught them agricultural techniques and provided them with food. In 1621 both the pilgrims and the Wampanoag came together for a three-day harvest, which is known as Thanksgiving today.
…They had it right, three days of food and celebration instead of one.
We’re definitely a sides family, ham over turkey all day, but our favorite traditional dishes are: Banana pudding, sweet potato casserole and stuffed sausage mushrooms. Now we want to hear from you in the comments, are you a sides person, main dish lover or desert only fan?
