‘Tis The Season🎅🏻, Build Your Own Hunting Blind🦌, Book Club📚
We know most of you are in your jackets and beanies up North, but we are too! Florida has had a few cold fronts this year❄️ The lowest it’s been is 48 degrees at night. Nothing compares to the cool, crisp air this time of year. Without it, it doesn’t feel like the Christmas season. But, speaking of the season!🎄 We are ready to relax and enjoy the holidays. This Christmas we are traveling! So far, we have enjoyed traveling every Christmas season. There’s something special about enjoying the season in a new place with new lights, decor, and things to do.
Besides all the holiday craziness, life has recently looked like work, gym, make dinner, relax, repeat. Anyone else?
‘Tis the Season⭐
How To Feel Cozy Around The Holidays
- Virtual Ambiance. Your perfect ‘something’s missing‘ in the background. Whether you’re cleaning, cooking or having guests over, I recommend putting an ambiance on your TV. Here are a few of my favorites:☕Cozy Christmas Coffee Shop, ☃️Cozy Winter Hut, ❄️Falling Snow, and 🌙Nightly Snow.
- Crockpot Hot Chocolate. Hosting a party, or curling up with a good book, this cozy Crockpot Hot Chocolate recipe is all you need! Make sure to check to see if the chocolate is burning or curdling.
- Gingerbread Man Pillow. I’m not trying to exaggerate when I say you need the cutest gingerbread man pillow ever. He is so soft, and perfect to prop a good book on.
- Coffee & Lights. One of our favorite holiday dates is putting on pajamas, a cozy winter outfit, getting our favorite coffee or drink and then driving around to look at the Christmas lights🎄. If your town has a beautifully decorated downtown, then walk downtown and pop in a store or two!
Do you know why we celebrate Christmas?🎅🏻
The celebration is rooted from Christian religious traditions and the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. His birth is a significant event on the Christian calendar, as he is the Son of God and the Savior of humanity. The day he was born is actually not mentioned in the bible at all, but rather December 25th was chosen by early Christian leaders to coincide with existing pagan celebrations like the Roman festival of Saturnalia. It wasn’t until the 19th century that Christmas was widely celebrated with an emphasis on family and gift-giving. In 1870, Christmas was officially declared a Federal Holiday in the United States, a decision that was heavily influenced by the efforts of writers and artists who sought to promote a unifying holiday that could bring people together, transcending regional and cultural differences. Over time, the recognition of Christmas in different countries reflects a combination of religious, and cultural factors that evolved over the centuries.⭐
