My New Refreshing Skin + Hair Routine For 2024

Y’all, I am in need of a new skin and hair routine. So, this year I am doing just that, searching for healthier skin and thicker, longer hair. I have revamped my daily routine to prioritize nourishment, hydration, and natural vitality. So, I’m taking you with me on this little journey!✨

First things first, I am not going to go to the store to invest in a costly routine that I hope works, instead I am sticking to the essentials and what works for me. I am committed to change though and have picked out affordable skin care products and tools to utilize through this process. Evaluating your own needs is so important and I believe the key, so please use my routine as a guide to help you nail down your perfect skin and hair care routine!🪴

Skin Care Routine🌞

  1. Clean and Clear Daytime Cleanser. Simple yet effective, Clean and Clear products are my go-to. Their daytime cleanser leaves my skin feeling refreshed without irritation.
  2. Tula’s Sunscreen Moisturizer. Living in the sunshine state calls for extra protection. Honestly, this is one of my favorite products because it’s a two in one. I love that I can apply moisturizer that already has sunscreen in it, it’s one less bottle to buy and store.
  3. Tip: Makeup Brush TLC. Instead of cleaning my brushes, I will literally throw them away and get new ones. This is probably one of my most toxic characteristics in life. If something is old, or broken, no need to clean or fix it, just go buy a new one! This year, I really want to properly clean my brushes. I know it is going to help prevent breakouts and ensure my skin remains clear and blemish-free.

Drink enough water. Grab a cute water bottle, hydro flask, or Stanley and drink your water!✨

Nighttime Routine🌝

  1. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes. On days that I wear anything more than sunscreen and moisturizer, I am taking off my makeup. These wipes have always been amazing and worked well for me. I will say that after you take off your makeup, you should wash off the chemical that helps remove your makeup, leading me to my next step ↓
  2. Clean + Clear Nighttime Cleanser. Honestly, nothing feels better than washing your day off of your face. I 100% recommend doing this in the shower so you can even get sloppy with it. Don’t forget your neck, hairline, and really scrub the day off.
  3. Retinol. I am tired and not drawing out my night time routine, but I knew I needed retinol and something else to keep my skin from drying out. Retinol is known to boost skin renewal overnight and is such a powerhouse ingredient. It helps your skin feel smooth, and reduces the fine line appearance.
  4. Lip Love. Last but not least, I wear a hydrating lip balm to bed every single night. This year, I invested in a very particular one from Clinique because I’ve had dry lips recently. But, any ChapStick or better, Vaseline will work just as perfectly!💋

✨Need a refreshing pick me up? I was gifted the Mario Badescu Facial Sprays for Christmas this year, and they have been a total game changer. Definitely recommend spraying your face after your skin care + makeup routines, during the day, and after your bedtime routine at night!✨

Hair Care Routine🦋

  1. Massage your scalp in the shower. Through my own experience and research I’m finding that everything is best in the shower. While my shampoo is still in my hair, I am massaging my scalp to stimulate blood flow and encourage natural oils to flow through my hair.
  2. Gently detangle with a Wet Brush. Minimize the damage and breakage to your hair by gently brushing through it while it’s still wet. A wet brush is best for detangling while a dry brush may rip or tear your hair.
  3. Oil-Free Philosophy. This year, I’m skipping the traditional hair oils. The scalp massage stimulates natural oil production, eliminating the need for additional oils we put into our hair. Personally, I have never needed extra oil in my hair but if you love your oils, be careful of hydrating your scalp too much. If you fall from your routine, your scalp could become very dry.

This year I am entering my productive and healthy girl era. I really am trying to focus on a holistic and realistic approach to beauty. I truly believe we don’t need 10+ products for a great skin care routine or to feel beautiful.

The scalp massager, wet and dry brushes, makeup brush cleaning kit, and some wash clothes are tools we can utilize to promote a healthy self-care lifestyle. Everything in my Amazon Store is linked that I am currently using, but of course I highly recommend buying products from ULTA or store of your choice.

(Between you and me, some of Amazon’s products can come from third parties, and you may think you’re buying the correct product but it’s had some additional ingredients added that we want to stay away from!😉)
